Student Exchange Policy

As one of the worls class universities, UI actively develops and maintains international linkage to the most advanced international academic institutions. For that purpose, UI encourages both UI's students and faculty staff to enlarge international experiences through student and researchers exchange program. Meanwhile, UI invites both international students and researchers to visits, stays and experiencing academic and intellectual atmosphere to our campus.


UI has strong commitment to facilitate academicians and scholars exchange in order to realize world scientific and humanities progress. To facilitate this exchange, standard and operation procedure had been developed to allow local and foreign scholars to communicate and to work altogether. UI belongs to national and world scientific communities.



Indonesia as a nation is experiencing changes in response to competition in the globalizing world, and Universitas Indonesia acknowledges that its role and contribution to every change in the local and global levels will be determined by each of the university's activities in the society. In order to give significant contribution to the nation and to the world, Universitas Indonesia sets its vision to be a world class research university.

Universitas Indonesia has been conducting internationalization to achieve its vision and as a response to the globalization, while local elements are also given high level of consideration. In the process, Universitas Indonesia has continually increased its capacity building in realizing, institutionalizing, and embodying varied international dimensions of research, teaching, learning and community service activities of the university's staffs and students.
The key dimensions of internationalization of Universitas Indonesia are as follows:

* Internationalized staffs and students of Universitas Indonesia
* Mobility programs of staffs and students
* International research collaboration
* Internationally focused curricula

The above dimensions are supported by Universitas Indonesia active role in 7 higher learning associations in Asia Pacific, Europe, Southeast Asia, and worldwide associations such as APRU (Association of Pacific Rim Universities), AUN (ASEAN University Network), ASAIHL (Association of South East Asia Institution of Higher Learning).
